POSITIVE and no, not the good kind

JUST FINALLY Got the results = positive for lupus anticoagulant.  Off to the hospital for discussions with the heparin doctor.

Many apologies for my big giant fail at November IComLeavWe

Much gratitude for all your support during this tough time.  The kindness from strangers sustains me.

  1. I’m sorry it had to be that kind of test that you got a positive on and not the good kind. That said, hopefully treating it will help lead to a successful outcome in the future. Let me know if you want any tips about the heparin injections – I’ve found some ways to minimize the brusing that I’m happy to share.

  2. First, I’m sorry for your diagnosis. However, the good news is that it’s completely treatable! When my test results came back positive for anitphospholipid antibodies (APAs), some of the research I did crossed over to the topic of Lupus. They are similar, after all.

I am currently taking Lovenox (similar to Heparin) to keep my APAs at bay.

Please keep us posted, I’ll be very curious to see what protocol your doc puts you on!
